Fellow Delaware Libertarians,
We’ve scheduled the Libertarian Party of Delaware’s 2009 Convention for May 2, 2009. It will be held at the pavilion at Killens Pond State Park’s Campground area (entrance on Paradise Alley Road east of US Route 13, south of Felton). Since the pavilion is quite large, covered, screened, and has a concrete floor this will be a “Rain or Shine” event. Outside the pavilion are horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, and a playground. There are two barbeque grills that should provide us with all the cooking surface needed. The park charges an entrance fee of $3 per Delaware-tagged vehicle and once the park is full no other vehicles will be admitted.
I’ve attached the General Park Information handout that we were given so you’ll know all about the activities the park offers. It includes information about overnight accommodations offered in their cabins (10 of them), pond-view cottage, and camping facilities (water and electric hookups) as well as other park features which include trails (hiking and biking), the water park, fishing, and the Nature Center (which, they tell me, should be open). I’d like to suggest that if you consider making a weekend of it that you make reservations early as the cabins rent out quickly.
Bring whatever you plan on eating (and drinking), whatever plates/cups/utensils you’ll need, and enough charcoal briquettes to cook it. We’ll have the grills fired-up but we’re not planning on bringing enough briquettes to keep them going all day and we’re not providing food or drinks.
We’ve got the pavilion from 8:00am until sunset so you may come whenever you’re ready. We’ve scheduled our business meeting for 4:00pm.
All are welcome, so feel free to bring a friend. Please R.S.V.P. by phone (302-525-2048 – please leave a message) or click here for a contact form so we’ll have an idea of how many to expect. Thank you.
