LPD-Activists
This is the Libertarian Party of Delaware Activists Group. We seek to raise the profile and membership of the LPD through (project based) Activism on various Libertarian Issues that will reflect on the LPD in a positive light. The group was founded by the New Castle County Libertarians on 1/29/2006. Members of the LPD Activists agree to volunteer at least 2 hours a month to the current Activist Issue, and to put up at least $20/year if needed to cover group expenses (web site hosting, postage, etc.). We intend to work on a project basis on the current issue, and to vote periodically, 3-4 times a year on what the current Activist Issue is or to reauthorize our current Activist Issue. We may adopt 2 AI's at a time sometime down the road based on our progress, success and resources.
Our first AI is Medical Marijuana as voted on 1/29/06 by attendees of the NCC meeting. We seek legislation to legalize compassionate medical use of marijuana for those suffering from illness or side effects from treatment. We seek to actively promote change in public policy in Delaware on medical marijuana and to publicize our support for compassionate use to raise public awareness. We intend to coordinate with groups such as LEAP and MPP to extend our outreach.
