Platform

The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights are considered to be among the finest documents of their type, establishing the role of governments as deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. The role of government is to protect the rights of the people who have freely instituted that government. Free and sovereign citizens have the right to pursue whatever livelyhood and means suits them. Having the benefits of knowledge and history at their disposal these citizens have the choice to partake of the system of government that suits their life's ambitions. Intelligent people willingly make sacrifices if needs be to maintain a free society, for humanity has shown a desire to seek its higher self. A truly free society does not want or need a restrictive authoritarian impetus to dominate their personal habits and beliefs.

In free market transactions, people make deals because, in their judgment, they will be better off by doing it. Unlike the coercion of government, other institutions, such as church and temple, the family, charitable, educational and civic organizations all work on voluntary cooperation. The key to their success is the libertarian premise of respect for the rights of others. I believe that individuals have the right to conduct their lives as they please as long as they do not infringe upon the rights of others.

In conclusion, it is most despicable, hypocritical and diabolical to raise "false flags" as a way of restricting personal liberty. Only an informed public can force the hand of government to be equitable and not take more dominion than needed. It has also been shown through history that the free market has been the best system for the efficient distribution of goods, services and resources to provide for the most people at the highest level. In contrast, government has been wasteful, corrupt and self serving when not closely monitored by an informed public and statesman dedicated to freedom, individual prosperity, and individual and national sovereignty. A people will have the government they deserve. And it never has been, or never will be possible that a people can be both ignorant and free.

Issues

  • Deficit Spending and the National Debt

Deficit spending is a gross malevolent attack upon national, state and individual sovereignty in America. It shows contempt for property rights by putting the future labor, wealth and liberty of the people today and future generations up for sale. Continually expanding the debt is irresponsible, negligent and malicious. Destroying the value of dollar devalues savings, reduces American workers to peons and lowers the standard of living. The economic instability created is a great threat to the public. We are already seeing hyperinflation of food and energy costs and failures of banking institutions. If an individual becomes insolvent their property is confiscated to pay the debt. What measures can or will be taken to repay the debt? And if repaying the debt is not the intention, then this is stealing and is less moral than other activities that have been criminalized.

  • No More Nation Building

Freedom should be spread by example, not by the barrel of a gun. The best way to increase our prosperity and security would be to stop meddling in the domestic affairs of others. How do we feel when outsiders tell our family how to live. The U.S. cannot afford to police the world. The U.S. has too many problems of its own to take care of. Our infrastructure and vital institutions are under a great strain already and our defenses need to be reinforced. I am not a globalist, but for national sovereignty and individual rights. End subsidies to foreign countries, and big business. Let the American workers keep that money and save or spend it as they choose to.

  • Treaties and National Sovereignty

Thomas Jefferson said, "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." All of the founders of our country were similarly wary of international agreements that draw us into foreign conflicts or dilute our national sovereignty. The authors of the Constitution intentionally made it difficult to enter into treaties by requiring that they be ratified by a two thirds vote of the Senators, who had sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

But recently we have lost our way and entered into all sorts of unconstitutional alliances, treaties, and agreements, starting with the UN, and proceeding through the WTO, IMF, NAFTA, the North American Union... Our government officials pretend that these organizations of unelected foreign bureaucrats supersede our Constitution. We now have unelected officials from foreign countries imposing their one-world government ideology on the US, and effectively nullifying the beliefs, values, and Bill of Rights this country was founded on. For an example of the disappearance of national sovereignty one only need to look at the European Union. The European Union, the North American Union, and the Soviet Union are the same. Communism and socialism have proven to be failures both economically and socially. The rights of the individual are trampled while the ruling elites reestablish a divine right to rule in the old world tradition of Kings and Queens. Once this happens the Spirit of the American Revolution will be put down completely.

We need to stop the President from entangling us in treaties that are inconsistent with our Constitution.

  • End the "War on Drugs"

What would you rather do, let some one smoke marijuana in their own home or put that person in jail? Alcohol and Tobacco are legal and easily available, but most people choose not to abuse them.

The War on Drugs is a huge failure. The fallacy of criminalizing drugs is that the government cares for you so much they don't want you to hurt yourself, but if you use drugs it justifies treating you as an enemy combatant and putting you in prison. This destroys the lives of both citizens and law enforcement, It has exponentially increased the value of the drugs to make them worth killing and destroying for. Basic economics tells us that these inflated prices will create a supply of illegal drugs that is impossible to stem.

Our personal liberties are sacrificed for the vain desire to create a nanny state to take care of people from cradle to grave. We are saddled with an oppressive government, supposedly for our own good. Can you really help someone that does not want to be helped? The free market is much better at determining appropriate behavior in our society. Who will be successful in business and daily life in a free market? Hint: it won't be the drug abusers. When drug abusers are ready for help, then and only then can they be helped. Overbearing control only serves to destroy the spirit of work and accomplishment.

The money and resources wasted on the "War on Drugs" would be far better spent caring for the elderly, the poor, and our veterans, who are suffering from the inflation in food and energy prices.

It is not possible to wage war against an abstract concept like "drugs" or "terror". The purpose of war is to kill or subdue the enemy, and destroy their capacity to fight. In a "war" with no identifiable enemy there can be no victory, only endless casualties--and those casualties are the American people. It must stop!
